Tip for Artists: ZAP your world!

I’ve recently discovered something amazing for artists – this is definitely a top tip: ZeitgeistArtProjects.

You may have come across it before as DIY educate at Core Gallery. Relaunched in a fantastic new location as Zeitgeist Art Projects (or ZAP as it’s affectionately known), it is run by Rosalind Davis (Director of Core Gallery, Deptford 2009-11) and Annabel Tilley, who are the innovative partnership behind the highly successful DIY Educate programme SHOW & TELL.

Based at ASC Studios in New Cross Gate, very near to Goldsmiths, they deliver a series of high quality professional practice events, artists talks, tutorials and peer critiques. Tilley and Davis will also be curating exhibitions of work from outstanding new and established artists. It is a fantastic way to build yourself as an artist after having left the comfort of art school, and to keep challenging and stimulating your creative self.

Below I list the upcoming events I recommend checking out (get in quick it’s your last chance to book, and tickets are from £3 for many events/workshops so it’s also super affordable on an artists budget!). I am popping along to an Engine ChatChat session with Elizabeth Murton this week and will be reporting back on how I find the session.

“I had a tutorial/crit with Graham Growley, which was in equal measure challenging and encouraging – a brilliant combination. It helped me clarify my ideas and contextualise my art.
